Situated in the Texas Hill Country, the Horseshoe Bay Resort is expanding its amenities with the addition of the Live Oak Pavilion, a new architectural centerpiece at the heart of the resort. The design and engineering of the pavilion required significant site interventions to harmonize with the existing landscape and water features. Hollingsworth Pack is providing structural engineering consulting services, teaming with Prevail Project Management and Andrew Wagner Architects.
To create usable space for the building and an elevated outdoor ceremony platform above the lagoon, extensive retaining walls were engineered to expand the available building pad into the existing lagoon. A new pedestrian bridge was introduced to connect the pavilion seamlessly with the existing event lawn and the existing resort.
A long-span steel roof framing system was carefully designed to provide column-free interior banquet halls, maximizing flexibility and unobstructed views for large gatherings. To further enhance adaptability, the pavilion incorporates interior and exterior folding partition systems suspended from the structural frame, allowing the event space to be subdivided or opened as needed.
When complete in January 2026, the 15,000-square-foot pavilion will provide a highly versatile venue for weddings, banquets, and corporate events—achieving a balance between architectural expression, structural ingenuity, and the resort’s natural setting.
