The Department of State, Bureau of Overseas Building Operations is the client. Mr Buckley Parks, PE and Mr. Brian Hockman, PE have joined our Austin office as lead electrical engineer and lead mechanical engineer, respectively. Hollingsworth Pack, together with REI Engineers, has once again been selected to support the Department of State, Bureau of Overseas Building Operations, with construction monitoring services.  The task order involves a re-roofing project on the Chief of Mission Residence, at the US Consulate in Tel Aviv, Israel.

The Commissariat in Terrier Rouge was inaugurated today.  The US Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs solicited the project as a design-bid-build project, designed by Hollingsworth Pack, with the support of CTA in Austin for MEP design, and Geoconsult in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The construction firm was PALGAG.  The ribbon cutting ceremony was the first public appearance of the newly arrived Chargé d'Affaires Robin Diallo. Additional VIP participants included the Director General of the Haitian National Police (HNP) Michel-Ange Gedeon, and the Mayor of Terrier Rouge, Marie Evena Daniel Pompilus.

On June 1, Justice Minister Marou Amadou received from the Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Niamey, Niger, Mr. Phillip Nelson  the new Niamey Prison solicitation documents, prepared by the Hollingsworth Pack design team.

Dave Dunkman, PE of Hollingsworth Pack Austin gave a presentation today at the American Society of Civil Engineers Structural Engineering Institute Structures Congress in Denver, speaking about the firm's experience and structural design challenges on the Fort Liberte Prison project in Haiti. Chris Hewitt and Scott Hollingsworth served as co-authors on the paper, peer-reviewed and published through ASCE (link).

Hollingsworth Pack has been selected for a new Entry Control Facility at Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy.  ECC, a US Design-Build Contractor, received the award, the fourth task order under a Multiple Award Construction Contract. The $5 million project includes anti-terrorism/force protection and security measures. The team includes Antonino Battaglia of Rome as Architect of Record, and Studio Santamaria of Catania, Italy for Engineering Services. Hollingsworth Pack Williamsburg is responsible for Fire / Life Safety Engineering.

The dedication of the Ft. Liberté Prison took place on Wednesday 24th of August. The ribbon cutting was performed by The Haitian Minister of Justice and Public Safety Mr Camille Jr Edouard and the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of the United States to Haiti, Mr. Brian Shukan.  Bishop Quesnel Alphonse christened the building. The building, solicited as a design-bid-build project, was constructed by DFS Construction LLC.  The project was funded by the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs. Hollingsworth Pack Williamsburg provided project management services, civil engineering and architectural design. Hollingsworth Pack Austin provided structural engineering. The Austin firm CTA is the MEP engineer of record.

The USAF has awarded to Adserballe & Knudsen Greenland the renovation, and expansion of a 2.800 m2 apartment building at Thule AFB in Greenland. The design-build contract totaling $19m will be completed during the summer of 2017. The design-build contract team includes prime consultant Hollingsworth Pack Aps, and sub-consultant Masanti in Nuuk, Greenland. Hollingsworth Pack in Williamsburg is providing fire protection engineering design services to the team.

Work is nearing completion on the Ft. Liberté Prison in northern Haiti.  Hollingsworth Pack provided design services for this design-bid-build prison funded by the United States Department of State. When completed, the prison will house 300 inmates, aiding the Haitian National Police in reducing the serious overcrowding problem in Haitian prisons. Hollingsworth Pack Williamsburg provided project management services, civil engineering and architectural design. Hollingsworth Pack Austin provided structural engineering. The Austin firm CTA is the MEP engineer of record, while the General Contractor is DFS Construction LLC. Work is expected to be completed in May 2016.

The first improvements to the Haitian National Police Academy are nearing completion. Hollingsworth Pack has provided bridging documents for the design - build solicitation of new standard bathroom units and a new educational building for the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs.  The Design-Build contractor is Edifice Studio of Beltsville, MD.

The commissariat in St. Marc has been completed and handed over to the Haitian National Police.  The improvements to this regional center, located adjacent to the courthouse, were funded by the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs. Construction was performed by PALGAG.  Hollingsworth Pack and CTA of Austin, TX supported the project with design build tender documents

The Commissariat in Martissant District of Port-au-Prince was completed this week. Hollingsworth Pack has provided bridging documents for the design-build tender.  CTA of Austin, TX supported the design with MEP Engineering. The design-build contractor was PALGAG.  The project is part of the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs efforts for reconstruction in Haiti following the 2010 Earthquake.

The design team for the 750 bed prison compound in Niamey, Niger presented their preliminary findings to the Government of Niger.  Here, Director Scott Hollingsworth reviews the proposed design with the Minister of Justice Marou Amadou on the site of the prison, together with representatives of the US Department of State, the European Union, and the Ministry of Justice.
