The scope of work included a new 9-bay clerestory roof, a new interior loading dock and courtyard, and upgrade of the existing electrical and water services. Construction has been completed for Hank's in Windsor Park, Austin. Structural and Civil engineering services were provided for the adaptive re-use of a grocery store into a restaurant + bar + coffee shop. Structural scope included a conversion of the building lateral system from masonry infill walls to a concrete moment frame allowing a significant area of new architectural window openings. Civil scope included a new water tap to upgrade the building with fire sprinklers.

Hollingsworth Pack Austin has completed schematic design of an existing dormitory building at the Thule Air Base in Greenland. We are providing seismic analysis and design for a retrofit of the existing steel framed structure constructed in 1960 per ASCE 41, and designing a new building addition. Aside from its high wind and seismic loading, the project site presents unique challenges including design of shallow foundations bearing into permafrost.

Design of three other Haitian commissariats in Vivy Michel, Martissant, and St. Marc were previously performed, with construction completed this year. These projects are part of the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs efforts for reconstruction in Haiti following the 2010 Earthquake.
Hollingsworth Pack has been selected to improve security conditions at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention facility (CDC) in Gaborone, Botswana. The Austin office will provide structural engineering and forced-entry protection design. The award for architecture and engineering services has been made under a 5 year framework agreement with the Atlanta based organization.
In March, Hollingsworth Pack was awarded a structural engineering contract with Villa Park Architecture for the condition assessment and renovation of a 73,000 square foot retail building in Universal City, Texas. We have completed construction documents for the facade renovation, and are currently working on interior modifications for the future tenants. Locally in the Austin office, Mr. Hewitt is responsible for leadership of structural and civil engineering design projects, and oversight of construction management services.
Hollingsworth Pack has been awarded an extension through 2015 to their IDIQ contract with the Indian Health Service in Albuquerque, NM for Civil and Environmental Engineering Support Services. Currently, we are providing engineering and construction management oversight for the Mud Canyon Sewer Main Extension project, providing approx. 12 miles of new sanitary sewer service for the Mescalero Apache Indian tribe.
In January, Hollingsworth Pack was awarded a multi-year A/E contract with the U.S. Department of State for design of law enforcement infrastructure in Haiti. Liberte, schematic design and oversight for (3) police stations and (2) prisons, and performed a condition assessment of the National Police Academy. Professor Ellen Rathje, Ph.D, P.E. from the University of Texas is providing contract support for the local geotechnical work based upon her research in the aftermath of the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
