Hollingsworth Pack completed today our kickoff site visit at the Royal Bahamas Police Force College in Nassau, Bahamas for the US Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL). Our Austin office is providing Civil, Structural and MEP Engineering work for the facility renovations.
Structural steel framing has been completed at Cross Creek Market, Building C located in Cedar Park, Texas. Hollingsworth Pack is providing structural and MEP engineering services for this building, which is the third building constructed on this site.

Construction is nearing completion on the LockTite Storage Expansion near Dripping Springs, Texas. Hollingsworth Pack is providing structural engineering services to Yellowstone Contracting for the addition of (6) new single-story self-storage buildings totalling 70,000 square feet, and site retaining walls required for construction on this highly sloped lot.

Construction has been completed on the Ridge at Ramsey Ranch shell building in Dripping Springs, Texas. Hollingsworth Pack provided structural engineering services for Enviroplan Architects and Fromberg Construction.
Hollingsworth Pack has completed construction documents for the adaptive re-use of an existing 25,000 square foot warehouse in South Austin. The scope of work included a new 9-bay clerestory roof, a new interior loading dock and courtyard, and upgrade of the existing electrical and water services. The building was designed using Revit 2017 aiding internal coordination and allowing integration into the architectural BIM model.
This week, Hollingsworth Pack co-sponsored charity events for both CBRE Cares and the Structural Engineers Association of Texas Austin Chapter (SEAoT). The CBRE Cares Charity Golf Bash was held at TopGolf and benefited CASA of Travis County, Explore Austin, 100 Club of Central Texas, R.O.C.K. Ride, Austin Wildlife Rescue, Austin Community Foundation and Habitat for Humanity Austin. The 2nd annual charity trivia night for SEAoT was held at Hops and Grain Brewery and benefited Habitat for Humanity Austin and the SEAoT Austin scholarship fund.
Construction has been completed for Hank's in Windsor Park, Austin. Structural and Civil engineering services were provided for the adaptive re-use of a grocery store into a restaurant + bar + coffee shop. Structural scope included a conversion of the building lateral system from masonry infill walls to a concrete moment frame allowing a significant area of new architectural window openings. Civil scope included a new water tap to upgrade the building with fire sprinklers.

Mr Buckley Parks, PE and Mr. Brian Hockman, PE have joined our Austin office as lead electrical engineer and lead mechanical engineer, respectively. They bring a combined 26-years of experience to our team, and both have worked with the Hollingsworth Pack team as sub-consultants on multi-discipline projects over the past 5-years. Hollingsworth Pack Austin has completed schematic design of an existing dormitory building at the Thule Air Base in Greenland. We are providing seismic analysis and design for a retrofit of the existing steel framed structure constructed in 1960 per ASCE 41, and designing a new building addition. Aside from its high wind and seismic loading, the project site presents unique challenges including design of shallow foundations bearing into permafrost.
The dedication of the Ft. Liberté Prison took place on Wednesday 24th of August. The project was funded by the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs. Hollingsworth Pack has been selected to design the new community commissariat in Terrier Rouge, a small town in northern Haiti. The Austin office will provide structural engineering design services. Design of three other Haitian commissariats in Vivy Michel, Martissant, and St. Marc were previously performed, with construction completed this year. These projects are part of the Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs efforts for reconstruction in Haiti following the 2010 Earthquake.
Hollingsworth Pack has been selected to improve security conditions at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention facility (CDC) in Gaborone, Botswana. The Austin office will provide structural engineering and forced-entry protection design. The award for architecture and engineering services has been made under a 5 year framework agreement with the Atlanta based organization.
In March, Hollingsworth Pack was awarded a structural engineering contract with Villa Park Architecture for the condition assessment and renovation of a 73,000 square foot retail building in Universal City, Texas. We have completed construction documents for the facade renovation, and are currently working on interior modifications for the future tenants. UPDATE: The project has been nominated for a 2016 Outstanding Construction Award by the Associated General Contractors of America.

Mr. Hewitt is a licensed structural & professional engineer, a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, and has lived in Austin for over 30 years. In the position of Associate Partner, he is responsible for leadership of the firms structural engineering design projects around the world. Locally in the Austin office, Mr. Hewitt is responsible for leadership of structural and civil engineering design projects, and oversight of construction management services.
Hollingsworth Pack has been awarded an extension through 2015 to their IDIQ contract with the Indian Health Service in Albuquerque, NM for Civil and Environmental Engineering Support Services. Currently, we are providing engineering and construction management oversight for the Mud Canyon Sewer Main Extension project, providing approx. 12 miles of new sanitary sewer service for the Mescalero Apache Indian tribe.
In January, Hollingsworth Pack was awarded a multi-year A/E contract with the U.S. Department of State for design of law enforcement infrastructure in Haiti. The Austin office of Hollingsworth Pack led by Mr. Chris Hewitt, P.E. is performing the structural engineering services, and has thus-far completed construction documents for a prison compound in Ft. Liberte, schematic design and oversight for (3) police stations and (2) prisons, and performed a condition assessment of the National Police Academy. Professor Ellen Rathje, Ph.D, P.E. from the University of Texas is providing contract support for the local geotechnical work based upon her research in the aftermath of the 2010 Haiti earthquake.
